The British Rowing Junior and Senior Club Championships were held in Nottingham last weekend. On Friday, Izzy and Holly continued their run of success, taking the silver medal, while the boys’ four had to be satisfied with a B final place.
At Molesey Regatta on Saturday James, Charlie, Alex R and Barney started a good run for Walton with a win in Open quads. Tara, Fran, Izzy and Fiona followed this up with a win in Women’s quads. Alex Mather (back sculling for Walton) took the Junior singles, while Juliette and Bella won the WJ doubles.
At Molesey Junior on the Sunday Walton had many first-time racers in the younger crews, mostly sculling down and back through the lock, another new experience for many. There were wins for brothers Charlie and Alfie in J16 doubles, for Mika and Arlo in J14 doubles, and for Holly in the WJ16 singles. The day closed with a win for the WJ16 quad of Holly, Kiriana, Maddie and Lara. Most of our crews won at least one heat and everyone came back having enjoyed their day.
