First coastal GB vest for Hal

Hal Flowerdew has been selected to represent GB in the mens solo event at the European Coastal Rowing Champs in San Sebastián next month.

Hal, the son of club Treasurer Lesley Flowerdew, started his rowing career at Cranmore, then at Walton where he was very successful at J13 and J14 level. He rowed for St Georges and then Newcastle University, but has been supported in his coastal rowing mainly by Tynemouth RC. But he has remained a Walton member throughout and will be representing Walton in San Sebastián, where he is also supported by the Parry Memorial Fund. He must be the club’s first coastal GB representative, and we wish him every success.
